About Super Smash Bros Crusade
Super Smash Bros Crusade is a free fighting game that brings together over seventy playable characters from across gaming, anime, manga, and internet culture. Whether you're a longtime fan of the franchise or new to fighting games, you'll find an incredible roster that spans legendary video game heroes like Ryu, Kirby, and Sonic alongside anime powerhouses Goku and Vegeta, plus surprise meme characters that add humor and charm to every battle.
Born from passion in 2008 when just three developers started the project, Super Smash Bros Crusade has evolved into a massive community effort. The first public demo launched in 2010, and since then, over a hundred contributors—programmers, artists, voice actors, and musicians—have poured their talents into this labor of love. Each new version brings fresh characters, refined gameplay, and expanded content that keeps the experience evolving.
You get multiple ways to play. Jump into Classic Mode for a challenging single-player campaign where you have three lives to defeat increasingly tough opponents and reach the final boss. Training Mode lets you master each character's unique moveset and special attacks in a pressure-free environment. Local multiplayer supports up to six players in free-for-all or team-based battles, making it perfect for fighting game tournaments with friends. While native online play isn't included, you can use external tools like Parsec to take your matches online and compete globally.
The character roster is where this game truly shines. Every fighter comes with distinct special attacks, detailed animations, and alternate color variations that sometimes unlock entirely different characters—play as one of Phoenix Wright's alternate forms to control Miles Edgeworth instead. This depth rewards you for learning multiple characters and experimenting with different playstyles.
Stages are equally important to your success. Each arena has its own personality, hazards, and hidden mechanics. The Tetris stage, for example, becomes genuinely dangerous when blocks fall from above—mastering map knowledge is essential to winning at harder difficulty levels. Learning how each stage behaves transforms you from a casual player into a competitive fighter.
Super Smash Bros Crusade represents something special: a community-driven fighting game built on genuine love for the genre and the characters that define it. Free to download and continuously improved by its dedicated team, it delivers competitive depth, character variety, and the kind of fun that only comes from a passion project crafted with care.
